Casa Ganima is a private six-bedroom villa in Playa Grande, Guanacaste, rented as a whole house, so nothing is shared with other guests. Outside there is an 11-meter saltwater pool with a sun shelf, an outdoor kitchen with a gas BBQ, a covered terrace, a pool table, foosball and a bocce court. Inside there is a full kitchen with a long stone island and bar seating for five, a dining table for ten, Starlink internet and a laundry room with two washing machines.

Six bedrooms for up to 14 guests, four of them with their own bathroom. La Flor, El Sol and La Selva each have a king bed and an en-suite bathroom. La Luna has a king bed, a trundle and an en-suite bathroom. El Mar has two twin beds that convert to a king, plus a trundle. Las Olas has a king bed and shares a bathroom with El Mar.

Yes. The 11-meter saltwater pool is for your group only. It has a shallow sun shelf at one end and is 2 meters deep at the other. The pool is not fenced off from the house, so young children need an adult with them at all times.

Yes, with one caution. Two or three families can share the house comfortably, with six bedrooms, a lawn, a games terrace and a beach 300 meters away. Playa Grande is a surf beach, so little ones play at the water's edge while older kids take surf lessons. The pool is not fenced, so young children need an adult with them.

No. Casa Ganima sits 300 meters back from the sand, a short walk from the north end of Playa Grande. Development on the beach itself is restricted by Las Baulas National Marine Park, which is why this stretch of coast has no beachfront towers and stays uncrowded.

Yes. Playa Grande sits across the estuary from Tamarindo, and the national park limits building along the coast, so there are no high-rises and the beach rarely feels busy. Tamarindo's restaurants, shops and surf schools are a short drive away when you want them.

December to April is the dry season: sunny days, almost no rain, and the busiest and most expensive time of year. May to mid-November is green season, with mostly clear mornings, afternoon showers, bigger surf, fewer people and lower rates. September and October are the wettest months.

Leatherbacks nest on Playa Grande from about late October to mid-February, peaking in December and January. The beach closes to the public at night during the season, so the only way to see a nesting turtle is a guided night tour with an authorized local guide, booked in advance.
