Casa Ganima gives a team of up to 14 a private base in Playa Grande, Costa Rica, for offsites, planning weeks and working retreats. Starlink runs at about 375 Mbps, each of the six bedrooms has its own desk, and the shared spaces are big enough to work together and still find a quiet corner. Mornings are for the work. Afternoons are for the pool, a surf lesson or the beach, a 5-minute walk away. Liberia airport (LIR) is about 1.5 hours by road, and Tamarindo’s restaurants are a short drive for the team dinner.

More Than a Vacation Home

BUILT FOR FOCUS

Every bedroom has a dedicated desk, air conditioning and blackout curtains, so calls, deep work and sleep happen in private. When the group comes together, the living room, terrace and outdoor kitchen give everyone room to meet, eat and debrief without anyone feeling on top of each other. Starlink at about 375 Mbps keeps the whole team online.

STEPS TO THE BEACH

The quiet north end of Playa Grande is 300 meters from the house, inside Las Baulas National Marine Park. It becomes the reset between sessions: a swim before the first call, a surf in the afternoon, a walk at sunset to close the day. The beach is protected, so there are no high-rises and no crowds, only sand, surf and wildlife.

ROOM TO RECHARGE

Four of the six bedrooms are en-suite, and two share a hall bath. Between sessions there's an 11-meter saltwater pool, a bocce court, a pool table, foosball and a BBQ for the nights nobody wants to go out. Terracotta floors, Moroccan tile and art from Costa Rican artisans make it feel like a home, not a conference hotel: no other guests, and the whole house is yours for the length of the stay.

Our stay at Casa Ganima was a true WOW… We were 10 (two families + grandparents), and the 6-bedroom home fit us perfectly with room to spare. The design is stunning, airy yet cozy & comfortable, with beautiful local art… and perfect indoor-outdoor flow. We basically lived in the saltwater pool and patio – it was hard to leave.

In Guanacaste, the rainy season generally runs from May through November, transforming our tropical dry forest from dusty and golden to incredibly lush and green.

Insider tip: If you’re planning a trip, keep July in mind.

That’s when we get veranillo — literally “little summer” — a short period of drier weather that typically arrives in the middle of the green season.

From the first sketches, to bare concrete, to the curves and shadows you see today…it became so much more than a way to get upstairs. It became the heart of the home. 🫶🏼

Every year, something extraordinary begins moving through the National park. A little wild, a little mysterious, incredibly adorable and impossible to forget once you’ve seen them.

Red crabs with purple backs—Gecarcinus quadratus— also know as Halloween crabs. They leave their hidden lives among the trees and make their way toward the sea to release their eggs. During the rainy season, they can appear by the hundreds, their vivid colors flashing through the green landscape of Playa Grande.

You’ll have to see it to believe it. Come see it for yourself 🦀
